Karu Distillery's Outcask Rum is an Australian made rum and the first, in a very long time, to make its way from the Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury regions. Beginning life with sticky sweet NSW molasses that's fermented for two weeks, Outcask is then distilled in Karu's copper pot still, Calcifer, before ageing in ex-Australian whisky barrels for two to three years.

 

Outcask Rum boasts notes of crisp green apple, mild banana, pineapple, candied brown sugar and hints of creaminess from the first nose. The palate follows through with crème brulée, sultana, honey, baked goods and crystallized sugar, leaving you wanting more.
