Whisky and Chocolate! A match made in heaven and now a delicious and boozy reality thanks to Tim Tam and Timboon Distillery joining forces to push the boundaries of desserts.
Whisky is one of the oldest spirits in the world but thanks to owner and distiller of Timboon Railway Shed Distillery, Josh Walker has given it a fresh, chocolately twist. He revealed he had the idea while eating Tim Tams earlier in the year, pondering the thought “What if there was a dram of my whisky in every biscuit?”
After months of testing different combinations of biscuits and Timboon’s various whiskies, the perfect mix has been found and is due to be released today called a 'Tim Tam Boon'. The biscuits will retain their crunchy, chocolate outer layer and have an inner cream of Tim Tam signature chocolate with a dram of smooth Port Expression Single Malt Whisky.
The product is set to be a market leader as it is the first of its kind and the innovation of Josh Walker receiving praise of whisky lovers around the country.
With the buzz and attention around Whisky selection for Prince Harry's wedding reception, Charles Prince of Wales decided to give the booze filled biscuits a nudge yesterday while touring rural Australia.
The royal entourage said that the Prince probably enjoyed them too much. When local reporters asked Charles the next day about the 'Tim Tam Boon' over-indulgence he winked and replied cheekily with 'That's what Berocca's are for!'
Each packet will have approximately 7 standard drinks and will only be available for a limited amount of time both online and served at the distillery alongside its current lunch menu.
These liquid gold biscuits will set you back $75.00 but are a guaranteed game changer for your sweet tooth.
Please note: In Australia it is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.
Hope everyone had a great April Fools Day!
